TransForm's Regional Coalition

About the Regional Coalition

TransForm leads a regional coalition made up of organizations that come together around key transportation and land use issues in the Bay Area.  Organizations that are members of the regional coalition officially sign onto a shared platform outlining the coalition's vision for the Bay Area.  The regional coalition then works together to determine policy priorities and develop campaigns to win these priorities.

Organizations in the regional coalition recognize that there are times when we must work together to win big changes that will benefit all of our organizations' missions.

A Diverse Range of Member Organizations

An incredible range of organizations are a part of TransForm's regional coalition: labor, health, environmental, planning, social justice, senior, people with disabilities, transit, pedestrian, bicycling, and more!

If you are involved with an organization, we hope you'll consider having the organization join TransForm's regional coalition.

A History of Big Wins and Great Strength

TransForm's regional coalition has been central to many victories over the years:

  • Taking on the Regional Transportation Plan, the Bay Area's transportation funding blueprint, and winning millions of dollars for: transit routes that connect low-income communities with essential destinations; bicycle/pedestrian safety programs and projects; and rewards for cities that place housing - particularly affordable housing - near transit.
  • The passage of Regional Measure 2, the one-dollar bridge toll increase to fund transit, that's led to a massive expansion of rail, bus, and ferry services.

TransForm's regional coalition yields great political strength:

  • The many member organizations together have significant grassroots power
  • The regional coalition is difficult for agencies to ignore, as we work together to determine joint policy priorities and form a united front
