The Lake Merritt station area currently hosts
moderate density housing, and has little in the
way of character and identity. The City of Oakland
will be using MTC/ABAG SAP grant funding to unlock
the station area's strong potential as a new model
for transit-oriented development in the region,
and will connect the area to the surrounding
neighborhoods. For this process, the City of
Oakland will be working with key stakeholders to
develop a Specific Plan that will include an EIR
and an implementation strategy. TransForm, working
through the Great Communities Collaborative will
be working with the community and local
stakeholders to maximize the outcomes of the
community involvement strategy that will be
conducted as part of the city's planning strategy.
The result will be a livable, more walkable
