Oakland: Lake Merritt BART Station

The Lake Merritt station area currently hosts moderate density housing, and has little in the way of character and identity. The City of Oakland will be using MTC/ABAG SAP grant funding to unlock the station area's strong potential as a new model for transit-oriented development in the region, and will connect the area to the surrounding neighborhoods. For this process, the City of Oakland will be working with key stakeholders to develop a Specific Plan that will include an EIR and an implementation strategy. TransForm, working through the Great Communities Collaborative will be working with the community and local stakeholders to maximize the outcomes of the community involvement strategy that will be conducted as part of the city's planning strategy. The result will be a livable, more walkable community that will benefit everyone. To learn more, please contact Joel Ramos.
